Australia Hockey League… Day 2

After an impressive performance on match day 1, defending champions VIC Vikings continued their quest to defend their title with another convincing victory over  a New Zealand development side. The champions proved a mismatch for their opponents right from the blast of the whistle till the end. The New Zealand development side who were making their first appearance in the competition had little to show to fans inside the Perth hockey stadium. The match ended 4-0 in favour of VIC VIKINGS making it 2(two) wins out of two matches. The win puts them top of Pool A.

Tassie Tigers put their opening day loss behind to beat fellow losers on match day one S.A. Hotshots by 6-0. Arthur continued his goal scoring exploits by grabbing a brace to make it five(5) goals in two matches with McCambridge also getting a brace. Mackey and McHugh also got on the scoresheet for the Tigers to help them leapfrog OLD Blades into 2nd place.

In Pool B,  host state WA Thundersticks suffered a mauling at the hands of the Indian development team at the Perth hockey stadium. Last year’s finalists gave their opponents no match in the third game of the day succumbing to a 4-1 defeat leaving Pool B still very open.
