Bibiani Hockey Club face financial distress
After 5 weeks of intense hockey play from the Ashanti Regional Hockey Association League (Ash Hockey League), Bibiani Hockey Club hasn’t been able to play any game at the end of the first round.
The 2016 Ash Hockey league champions and Ashanti Regions champion of champion have surged into financial crisis. According to the head coach of the team, Mr. Castro Akoto, the team spent GHc 8000 (excluding food) on the transportation of players, last year, causing the team to be in some huge financial deficiency.
He said “The team is financially challenged and I have asked for the postponement of our first round matches to next year with the hope of raising some funds”.
In other developments, Silver Hockey club on the other hand, are on top of the table with 9 points after 3 games played. They are followed by KNUST, Seniors, Unique, Bibiani and Royals follow with 7, 6, 1, 0, 0 respectively. Royals are button as result of the loss in all two matches played so far.
