DAY 3 – INTER REGIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL

Ashanti Region and Upper East battled out in a very aggressive encounter in the first match of the day. The Ashanti side which proved to have a more experienced side, took the lead for the first time in the match through Fuseini Muslim(C), in the 15th minute. The game remained 1-0 until the second half when Upper East equalized. Upper East shocked spectators with their rather improved performance.
The captain of the Ashanti side, Fuseini Muslim registered a brace in the 53rd minute through a beautifully converted penalty corner. The game ended 2-1 in favor of Ashanti Region. Ashanti region faces Greater Accra in their next debut for an el decisor, of a spot in the final.

Volta Region held the host region in another tough encounter later in the day. Volta matched the Central team but failed to deny them two goals kind courtesy Ben Kwofie and Godsway Addae in the 7th and 43rd minute. The game ended 2-0 in favor of Central Region.

Eastern Region locked horns with Greater Accra in another tough match. The defending champions, Greater Accra found it difficult to get their rhythm in this very match unlike earlier matches. They struggled to even penetrate the defense of their opponents. The Eastern side who were equally resourceful, were up to task but were denied qualification to play in the final, when Joshua Peprah(C) of Greater Accra scored a controversial goal in the 53rd minutes.
The game continued with tempers rising but ended peacefully with a lone goal in favor of Greater Accra. Greater Accra prepares to meet Ashanti in their next debut.

Brong Ahafo had their first win over Upper West as they beat them by 2 goals to 1. Balami Emmanuel put Brong Ahafo in the lead in the 6th minute and Kennedy Gyamfi doubled the score in the 23rd minute.
Upper West were quick to pull one back in the second half . The game ended 2-1 in favor of Bring Ahafo Region.
