Eastern Region : 2018 Inter-zonal hockey competition starts

The year ends in no other way better for hockey lovers in the Eastern Region than the Inter-zonal hockey competition. The Pope Johns SHS and Koforidua Secondary Technical SHS (KSTS) hockey fields will be the centre of attraction with all eight zones well represented in both categories.

The competition which is slated from the 28th-30th November,  2018 will see 20 schools (14 male and 14 female teams) across the region take onto the field for the glittering trophy as well as bragging rights.

In the boy’s division, host Koforidua Zone will be represented by KOTEC and New Juabeng SHS with Kibi Secondary Technical SHS (KiSHTS) and Suhum Presec doing likewise for Kibi zone. Newly created Kukurantumi zone will unleash Saviour SHS and AMESS (WBM).

Kwahu zone’s duo of defending champions St. Peters SHS and Mpraeso SHS, Akwapem zone’s Mampong Presec (M’Presec) and Okuapeman SHS (OKUASS) alongside Yilo Krobo SHS (YIKROSEC) and AMESS of Somaya Zone will be in action. The last two zones will present a school each; Asamankese zone and Oda zone represented by Asamankese SHS and Akokoaso SHS respectively.

 

In the girl’s division, defending champions Oti Boateng SHS (OBOSS) and GHANASS will represent host Koforidua zone. YIKROSEC and AMEST from Somanya zone with Mampong Presec and Aburi Presbyterian Senior High and Technical School from Akwapen zone.

Asamankese and Oda zone once again will present a team each; Asamankese SHS and Akokoaso SHS respectively. Debutants St. Paul’s SHS (SPaTS) and AMESS (WBM) from Kukurantumi zone and Kibi zone’s duo of Suhum Presec and KiSHTS alongside Abetifi SHS and Kwahu Ridge SHS from Kwahu zone will all be in action in the girl’s division.

 

The POJOSS hockey field will host the boy’s division with KSTS hockey field hosting the girls.

    KiSHTS was not the defending champions.It was Persco I think
