REFORMERS RECORDS SECOND WIN

Recap

After Reformers’ win against Legon Knights last month, they struggled to get a win again until last Saturday, 3rd June 2017. They came against Ark Men in a fierce encounter where both teams were desperate to override its counterpart to secure the maximum 3 points.

 

The match which push started at about 6:30am saw Ark Men dominating the early minutes of the first half. The pressure mounted on Reformers within these minutes won Ark Men a penalty corner which made them take the lead in the scoreline, courtesy James Marfo. Reaching the dying minutes of the game, Reformers increased the tempo of the flow of the game where they outplayed Ark Men and cancelled Ark Men’s early goal with a beautifully coverted goal from Emmanuel Lamptey. Emmanuel Lamptey strived on to put his team in the lead for the first time about when the umpire called for the end of the first half. The first half ended with Ark Men down by 2 goals to 1.

 

Ark Men came back stronger in the second half where Daniel Dankyi put his team back at par with Reformers through a drag flick in a penalty corner. The game continued with lots of wasted chances from both teams until Patrick Asmah, in the 62nd minutes found the back board with a powerful hit which put Reformers in the lead again. Ark Men took control of the last 5 minutes of the game, but their efforts gave them no goal.

Reformers carried the day with 3 goals to 2.
