Female Blacksticks prepare immensely for opponents in Gold Coast

Arriving in Gold Coast ahead the 2018 commonwealth games, the Female Blacksticks of Ghana have since then been engaged in intense training session towards the competition. The team has been engaged in both field and classroom session to psych themselves towards the tournament

The team, according to the head coach – Emmanuel Ahadjie, started its preparation on Day 2 after arriving. “We train twice a day, thus morning and evening to prepare the ladies for tournament. We are waiting for confirmation to play a friendly this Wednesday and Friday to assure the team whether our training since January has been worth while.” he noted.

When asked about his opponents he said “I have studied my opponents for the past 6 months just to see how i can add value to my girls. I have noticed one or two tactics and monitored some key players in all the teams we are playing. I will carry out similar tactics to see how the girls can defend and attack. If they do what i tell them am sure we would make our mark”.

In his final comments about the tournament he said ” We do not have a specific target for this tournament because we know the caliber of teams we about-face but not withstanding that we are sure to pull a surprise. We lost to Scotland in Spain by a goal to nil and are close to Canada based on rankings. Surprisingly we are facing two of the most competitive teams in this competition in our first two games but we positive that the girls would play their utmost best for the country”.
