Flickers off to Kenya to prepare for ACCC 2018
With just few days to the start of the biggest club hockey competition in Africa, clubs have intensed their training as they yearn for continental glory. Amongst these clubs are those from Nigeria who are more eager to lift the ultimate as the competition is played on home soil.
One of Nigeria’s representatives in the men’s category, Niger Flickers have left the country Nigeria for Nairobi, Kenya.
The three time Nigerian Super League champions left Nigeria for Kenya to prepare ahead of the 2018 ACCC to be staged in Abuja later this year.
The 18 man squad includes Delta Force’s Wale Ojo who joined on loan as well as Sunday Oguruku from Stallions. Micheal Agbaegbu and Oghenevo Nova also joined the team from Yobe Desert Rollers. The team from Kada state is expected back into the country next week to finalize preparations.
After placing third in 2015, the Flickers are hoping to improve upon their not convincing performance in the 2017 ACCC staged in Accra, Ghana where they finished 5th.
The Abuja National Stadium will host the event which runs from December 15th to 22nd.
