Citizens came back in the early part of the second half to reduce the deficit but wasn’t enough to gain a point at the end of 70mins. Multistix defended the score till the final whistle.

Citizens captain, Raoul, noted “this match wouldn’t hinder our chances of taking the title this season. We’ve talked about the mistakes in the dressing room so the way forward is to be mentally strong for the next game”.
Captain of Multistix also noted that they are motivated by this score even though they had a challenge forming a formidable team for this season. He said “this score enthuses us to face Goldensticks in a much prepared manner with the experienced players we have’’. He also added that two teams that are likely to pose a threat to their success will be Sapholda (2016 winners) and NDK Financiers (the unpredictable ones).

Goldenstick record first loss to Financiers

Goldensticks commenced its divisional league facing one the leagues greatest competitor, Financiers. Golden stick matched boot for boot with Financiers in the first half as it ended goalless.
Financiers changed the pace of the game with an early goal in the second half to set the two teams apart. They added another goal in the 56th minute to separate the boys from the men. They finally secured all three points with a splendid goal in the 64th minute to sit on top of the table with the highest number of goals in the Master Division.
In other developments, Sapholda’s match was cancelled due to the inability of Veterans make up a team. Veterans have pulled out of the season due to their numbers, thus reducing the teams from 6 to 5.
