USA CROWNED WOMEN CHAMPIONS IN HOCKEY WORLD LEAGUE, JOHANNESBURG.

The Americans wrapped their tournament with the ultimate after beating Germany on penalties. The women’s final was an epic encounter with both teams so cautious during open play. The Germans were first to score through Camille Nobis with Taylor West equalising for the Americans to force a penalty shoot out which the Americans won.

In the 3-4 classification match, 2nd ranked in the world, England beat Argentina (ranked 3rd) by 5-2.

Individual awards
The Americans dominated the awards with captain Melissa Gonzalez emerging best player, Jackie Briggs as the tournament’s best Goalkeeper and Jill Witmer with 5 goals, taking home the scorer award. Germany’s Nike Larenz put up a fine display to win the best young player award.
