Citizens International donates to Volta Hockey Club.
Citizens International Hockey Club donated hockey equipment to the Volta Hockey Association after the sides engaged in a three club invitational gala held at the Ho sports stadium last Saturday.
The gala hosted by the Hockey Association in Volta saw three clubs namely Citizens International Hockey Club, Volta hockey club and Koforidua hockey club take part.
The host, Volta Hockey Club beat their counterparts Citizens Hockey Club, Accra by a lone goal in the opening match. The sweet victory gave them confidence approaching the second game but luck was not on their side this time around as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Koforidua Hockey Club. Citizens then played a 1-1 drawn game with Koforidua Hockey Club in the final game of the tournament.
After the games, Citizens donated hockey sticks to Volta Hockey Club and later announced the adoption of the Club with numerous support in the coming years.
Speaking after the event, Mr. Peter Paul Osafo, head coach of the Volta Hockey Club thanked the entire Citizens Hockey Club for the wonderful gesture. “I will like to express my gratitude to Citizens International for this gesture and also promise that we will do our best to develop the game in this part of the country”, he said.
