“We are ready” – Meshac
The male Kenyan team trained earlier today to have a feel of the Theodosia Oko pitch. During their training, isports360 caught up with their head coach – Meshac who stated emphatically that as they play their first game tomorrow they are ready for it and they have done all what they can do, it is left with the players to deliver on the field. He also said he wouldn’t underrate any team because he sees all the teams are on the same level and so all matches are like finals to them.
He finally added that this tournament is adding a lot of exposure and experience to the game played in Africa and it also creating a lot of connection for the regions that play hockey in Africa.
The first match of the day will be between the female national team of Ghana and Nigeria at 3:15 pm. Kenyan’s male team will then square off with their counterparts from Nigeria at 5:30 pm to kick-start the males pool. The last match for the day will see the Blacksticks of Ghana came up against the Namibians.
