The Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA) held a meeting earlier today to discuss the way forward, as no specific date for the end of the current COVID19 pandemic is in sight.
No official date for the resumption of the Sapholda Hockey League has been announced, but it is said that GAHA are looking at every possible scenario and are confident of a smooth transition back to normalcy when given the go ahead by the Presidency to resume their activities.
The association also praised some of its members for finding the means to keep active even in these complex times as many team managers can be seen sharing training regimes to their players over the internet, with the association encouraging others to follow their example.
GAHA also revealed that if the association is unable to hold any of its competitions by the end of the year, it will roll-over any registration fees paid by clubs to the next year.
The Greater Accra Hockey Association suspended it’s activities on 15th March, 2020 following the President of Ghana’s national address placing a ban on all sporting events in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID19.
